Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to launch an online registration system for the BCS examinees to ease the appointment process.
“The new system will enable the commission to recommend the successful candidates of a BCS examination for appointment within a year, which took almost three years in the recent past,” PSC Chairman ATM Ahmedul Haque Chowdhury told at a pres conference at the BPSC office in the city yesterday.
The examinees of the 33rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations will fill in the application forms online from March 8 to April 7, he added.
The PSC chief also expressed optimism that the digital system will speed up the activities of the commission and save a huge amount of money spent for printing the application forms, syllabus and other required documents.
PSC officials said a team of IT specialists led by PSC member Prof Imran Kabir Chowdhury took the initiative to introduce the online registration system through www.bpsc.gov.bd.
State-owned mobile phone operator Teletalk assisted the initiative. It will provide all the exam-related information to the candidates.
PSC members Prof Liakat Ali Khan and Prof Rashida Begum and Controller of Examinations AYM Nesar Uddin were present, among others.
The BPSC recommends appointment of officials for the republic through several examinations.
