The four-day REHAB Summer Fair 2013 will begin at the
Ruposhi Bangla Hotel in the capital on June 26.
As many as 123 stalls, including of one construction material producer and two financing institute, will be set up at the fair venue.‘As a development partner of the government the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh is trying to solve the housing problems in the country and arranging regular fair to build bridge between buyers and REHAB members,’ said Md Wahiduzzaman, general secretary in-charge of REHAB, at a news conference at the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday.
He said the real estate sector was now facing severe threat due to unavailability of new power and gas connections for the last three years, high interest of bank loan, price hike of land and construction materials, lack of cooperation between service providing organisations and dilly-dally in approval of design.
But the proposed budget for the next financial year (allowing invest of undisclosed money in the housing sector) and the decision for the new gas connection have encouraged the sector people, Wahiduzzaman added.
The state minister for housing and public works, Abdul Mannan Khan, is expected to attend the inaugural session of the fair as chief guest.
The inaugural session will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday and the fair will remain open for public from 2:00pm to 9:00pm on the opening day. The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 9:00pm in the remaining three days.
The closing session will be held at 7:00pm on July 1 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital.
REHAB vice-presidents Abdur Rashid and Liakat Ali Bhuiyan also spoke at the news conference.
