Two mobile courts of the Chittagong City Corporation and the Chittagong Development Authority fined two restaurants and demolished nearly 100 illegal establishments on Monday.
The CDA executive magistrate, Mohammad Ashraful Alam, conducted a drive at the city’s Muradpur in Bibirhat area at about 11:00am and pulled down nearly 100 establishments which were illegally set up on the footpaths.
The mobile court also realised about Tk 1 lakh in fines from different shops during the drive.
Another CCC mobile court, led by executive magistrate Nazia Shirin, conducted a drive in the city’s Jamal Khan Road area and fined two restaurants for not maintaining cleanliness and carrying out anti-social activities.
