A rickshaw puller was hacked to death allegedly by a man who had extramarital affairs with the victim’s wife at Dania in the city’s Jatrabari yesterday.
Police arrested deceased Obaidul Sheikh’s wife Rehena Begum in this connection.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Harun-or-Rashid of Jatrabari Police Station said on information they found Obaidul in his house groaning with injuries to his neck and head.
He died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The SI said neighbours saw another rickshaw puller Lavlu Mia enter the house around 11:30pm.
Police recovered Lavlu’s shawl from the spot, creating suspicion that Lavlu might have killed Obaidul, he added.
The SI quoting Rehena said Lavlu was a paying guest in her house and an extramarital affair developed between them.
