Eight people were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in Sirajganj, Chittagong, Khulna, Magura and Chandpur on Sunday and yesterday.
Our Sirajganj correspondent reports, three people were killed and two others injured as a microbus rammed a human hauler on Bogra-Nagarbari road at Raninagar in Ullapara upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased were Akter Hossain Tota, 45, Haider Ali, 35, and Ershad Ali, 25; all of them of Raninagar village in the upazila.
The injured were taken to Bogra Mohammad Ali Hospital.
In Chittagong, Rubina Yasmin, 17, daughter of Md Yousuf Ali, hailing from Notunpara village in Baluchora area and a first year HSC student of Kulgaon College, died as a truck ran her over in Battoli area of the city yesterday afternoon.
In Khulna, a schoolboy was killed as a pick-up knocked him from behind on the school campus in Daulatpur area of the city yesterday morning.
The deceased Riad, 8, son of Md Zahidul Islam of Aronghata area, was a class II student of Aronghata Government Primary School.
In Magura, Rahima Begum, 50, of Jessore, died as a truck knocked her at Seemakhali bus stand in Shalikha upazila yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, an unidentified elderly mentally challenged man died as a bus crushed him on Magura-Faridpur highway in Parnanduali of Magura municipality around 5:30am yesterday.
In Chandpur, Habibur Rahman, 32, son of Khalilur Rahman of Matlob upazila, was killed and four others were injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided with a tractor on Baburhat-Matlob road in Kalibhangti area on Sunday night.
