At least four people were killed in separate road accidents in Barisal and Chittagong on Saturday night and yesterday.
A correspondent from Barisal reports: Three people were killed in separate road accidents on the outskirts of Barisal city on Saturday night.
Police and hospital sources said Rafiqul Islam, 35, a sales representative of Kohinoor Chemical Industries was severely injured when a bus hit him near Barisal Cadet College on his way to Gournadi from Barisal at about 10:00pm.
He succumbed to his head injuries on way to Dhaka early yesterday.
In another accident, Nazrul Mistri, 31, and Mohsin Mia, 40, two bicycle riders were killed after crushed under wheels of a passenger bus of Shahnaz Paribahan on Barisal-Bhola road at Kundu Bari at about 8:00pm on Saturday.
Police said bodies of the victim were handed over to relatives after autopsy and till this report none was arrested.
A correspondent from Chittagong adds: An unidentified man was killed in a road accident near Bandar post office in the port city yesterday.
Ratneshwar Majumder, sub-inspector of Bandar Police Station, said the accident took place when a vehicle ran over the man while he was crossing the road.
Police went to the spot and rushed the injured to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
