Daily Ittefaq Dhaka University correspondent Mahbub Rony and Ahmed Zayeef of the daily Protham Alo were elected as president and general secretary of DU Journalists’ Association respectively.
The election for the term 2012-2013 was held at its office at Teacher-Student Center of the university on Wednesday.
Also MM Jasim of the daily New Nation was elected as vice-president while Rafiul Islam of the daily Sun as joint secretary, Khairul Islam of the daily Financial Express as office secretary and Masum Billah of the daily Samakal as treasurer.
The elected executive members are Nazmus Sadat of the daily Dinkal, Sujon Mondol of bdnews24.com and Matiur Tanif of the daily Jai Jai Din.
Former general secretary of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity Ilyas Khan and former DUJA president Borhanul Haq Shamrat were the election commissioners for the poll.
