Nazmul Hassan Shanto continued his purple patch and scored an unbeaten 217 not out as Rajshahi declared their first innings on 334 for five against Sylhet in their second round match of the Young Tigers U-18 National Cricket Competition at the Cricket Garden in Rangpur yesterday.
Shanto had earlier scored 185 against BKSP in the first round.
In reply, Sylhet were bundled out for 190, and Rajshahi ended the second day on 20 for two.
At the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Dhaka Metro were in some strife against Chittagong at 109 for six, trailing by 97 runs in the second innings. Earlier, Chittagong declared on 312 for six with Mohammad Sumon scoring an unbeaten 135.
Meanwhile, BKSP secured a 108-run first innings lead by bundling out Dhaka North for 265, but ended the day on a shaky 32 for three at the Boro Moydan Ground in Dinajpur. Saeed Sarkar scored an unbeaten 105 for BKSP while Munim Shahriar scored an unbeaten 101 for Dhaka North.
Away at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, Rangpur followed on after scoring only 104 in reply to Khulna’s 259 for nine declared. Khulna’s Noman Shahriar took 7 for 34 after having top-scored with 68 in the first innings. Rajshahi ended the day on 69 for two in their second innings, still 86 runs behind Khulna.
