RTV clinched the Kool-BSJA Media Cup tournament by overcoming Channel 24 4-3 on penalties in the final at the Bangladesh Football Federation artificial football turf on Thursday.
After a goalless 90 minutes, RTV managed to net four spot-kicks out of six, while Channel 24 were only able to convert three. RTV captain and goalkeeper Anwar Haque saved three penalties, earning him the player-of-the-match award.
Bangladesh Television were given the fair-play trophy for their sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The competition started on June 29 with the participation of 24 media organisation teams, hosted by the BSJA and sponsored by Square Toiletries Limited.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin attended the final as the chief guest, while BFF vice-president Badal Roy and assistant coach of the Bangladesh national football team, Rene Koster, were also present at the prize-giving ceremony.
