Speakers at a human chain in Rajshahi University on Wednesday called for launching a mass movement and forging social resistance against harassment of girls and women to free society from the social crime.
They stressed the need for bringing back the morally deviated boys and other young men to normal life through proper counselling and motivation to reduce the crime to a greater extent.
Rajshahi University students under the banner of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front Rajshahi University unit formed the human chain in front the university central library at around 10:30am.
The speakers underscored the need for framing a strict law to stop stalking and building up united resistance against the stalkers.
Mehadi Hasan, president of Chhatra Front Rajshahi University unit, and its secretary Al-Mahmud Mitul, students Pallab Vattyacharja and Sohrab Hossain, among others, addressed the human chain.
