Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will be arriving Dhaka today to unveil the logo of Dhaka Premier League champions Legends of Rupganj, said the club officials.
Sachin will land in a private jet in the morning from Guwahati, where he was on Monday to watch the Indian Super League football match between North East United FC and his Kerala Blasters.
His schedule in Dhaka has been divided in two parts – a visit in Rupganj and the grand unveiling of Legends of Rupganj, owned by businessman Lutfar Rahman.
The Indian great will fly to Rupganj in the morning to visit a local school, where he will spend few moments with students. He is expected to plant a tree and hand over a cheque to the school authority for its development.
The logo unveiling ceremony of Legends of Rupganj will be held at the Ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the afternoon.
ICC president AHM Mustafa Kamal is expected to be present as the guest of honour during the logo unveiling ceremony.
The logo unveiling ceremony will include a colourful laser show highlighting Bangladesh’s cricket culture. Popular singer Shuvra Dev composed a theme song for the programme.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board earlier this month approved the changed name of Dhaka Premier League champions Gazi Tank Cricketers as Legends of Rupganj.
