The bounty and elegance of nature have been presented through paintings by artist Warior Rahman Sami.
A total number of 36 paintings, mostly done in watercolour, are on display at the young artist’s debut solo exhibition titled The Great Saga of Nature at the Shilpangan Gallery in Dhanmondi.
Eye-soothing natural scenes, relation between human life and nature, birds, flowers and heritages-a diverse range of subjects have been illustrated by Sami using fine brush strokes.
One of the paintings at the exhibition titled Freedom reveals an ox trying hard to free itself from a man who is tightly clutching the rope binding the animal in a desperate measure. Through bold strokes of brown and blue, Sami has competently highlighted the force in a tug-of-war between man and untamed nature.
The very opposite of nature-its calm and serenity has been unveiled in a painting titled Reflection of Nature. The blue sky mirrored on the water of a river flowing through a village depicted in the painting is a feast for the eyes of nature lovers.
Nature’s festivity has appeared in Sami’s painting Krishnachura revealing a krishnachura tree in full bloom of vermillon.
Dense and dark clouds from where heavy rain is pouring on the humans beneath have been arrested in a painting titled Rain. There is a kind of mistiness in the painting resembling the lack of visibility on a rainy day.
Sami revealed that he has always been moved by the force and beauty of nature. ‘My love for nature has inspired me to create paintings exposing the diverse nature of mother nature,’ Sami shared with New Age.
Inaugurated on June 7, the exhibition will remain open for everybody from 12:00 to 8:00pm till June 16.
