The tourism restriction imposed in Sajek valley of Rangamati and Khagrachhari for over a month was lifted today allowing visitors after 45 days.
Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mosharraf Hossain Khan announced the lifting of travel bans at the popular Sajek Union in Baghaichhari Upazila.
Similarly, the Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner has also lifted travel restrictions, reopening the hilly area to tourists starting Tuesday.
The relevant authorities have made various arrangements to welcome visitors. Hotels, motels, and resorts are ready for guests.
Rangamati DC Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan informed reporters that the hills are peaceful now, and there are no more travel restrictions to Sajek.
He also mentioned that the administration remains alert to ensure the safety of the public.
Due to safety concerns, some areas in the Chattogram hill tract were previously off-limits to tourists, halting trips to Rangamati and Khagrachhari.
