Sakib al Hasan heroics helped his side Jamaica Tallawahs to win for the two consecutive days as they beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 109 runs in their Caribbean Premier League match on Sunday at Jamaica. Sakib, who scored an unbeaten century and picked up a wicket in Jamaica’s win against Guyana Amazon Warriors a day earlier, scored a rapid-fire not out 34 off just 17 balls to propel their side to 183-6 before the hosts bundled out their opponents for just 75 runs in 15.5 overs.
Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara made 65 off 47 and added 74 runs in the third wicket stand with Rovman Powell, who scored 35 runs, and in-form Sakib continued the onslaught with an innings with five boundaries and a six.
In reply, St Kitts lost their opener Lendl Simmons in the third ball of the innings without any run on the board and they could never recover from that.
Sakib chipped in with 2-0-2-2 while Kesrick Williams was the most successful bowler with 3-19 and Dale Steyn and Andre Russell got two wickets apiece for Jamaica.
