Bangladesh cricketer Sakib al Hasan accomplished a rare feat on Monday when he climbed to the top of all-rounder’s rankings in all three formats. Sakib was top all-rounder in different format at different times but rarely achieved the feat at a time in all three formats.
His achievement came after Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews fared poorly in their Sunday’s first one-day international against New Zealand at Christchurch.
Mathews was dropped to third while Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez, suspended from bowling for illegal action had been lying at the second place.
Sakib’s current rating points in ODI are 403, six clear of Hafeez and eight points ahead of Mathews.
Sakib was already holding the top position in Test ranking for all-rounders after a stunning performance in the home series against Zimbabwe in October-November.
Sakib, with 419 points, leads South Africa’s Vernon Philander (341 points) and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin (318 points) by quite some distance.
In Twenty20 International ranking for all-rounders, Sakib is at the top with 377 points ahead of Pakistan’s Hafeez (363 points) and Shahid Afridi (326 points)
