Noted singer Salauddin Ahmed presented a few timeless songs of Nazrul in his solo musical programme at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre at Gulshan.
The show began with a Nazrul song titled Gogone sogono chomokichhe damini. Ahmed’s stentorian voice modulation of the song based on raga mallar was accurate to convey the flavour of monsoon to the audience.
The listeners could feel the charm of the season king spring when Ahmed rendered Aslo jakhan phuler fagun in his powerfully melodious voice.
The evergreen famous song by Nazrul- Mor priya hobe esho rani set a romantic atmosphere for the listeners. The melancholic tone with the heart wrenching lyrics of the beautiful composition Laili tomar eseche phiria also received audience acclaims. Another touching song Shaono raate jodi also delighted the audience during the musical evening.
Salauddin Ahmed also presented Nilambari sari porey, Amar kon kuley aaj, Phuler jalsai nirob keno kabi, Sokhi badholo badholo julonia, and several others at the show.
