Dhallywood’s once superstar late Salman Shah’s 43rd birth anniversary was celebrated with much enthusiasm on Friday at the premises of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) at Karwan Bazar in the capital. Salman Shah Smrity Parishad organised the programme to mark the day. The programme consisted of a discussion session and a cultural show. Noted director Sohanur Rahman Sohan, who introduced Salman Shah in Dhallywood, took part in the discussion session along with other film stars like Moushumi, the co-artiste of Salman Shah in his first film Keyamot Theke Keyamot and several other films.
SM Shafi, president of the parishad; upcoming Dhallywood actress Mishty Jannat, and others were present at the discussion session. Social welfare minister Syed Mosin Ali attended the programme as chief guest. ‘Salman Shah was a rare talent as an actor,’ said Syed Mohsin Ali in his speech.
‘Today I am really happy that so many people have come here to pay homage to Salman Shah. I believe people will continue to remember him in the coming years,’ said Moushumi.
Sohanur Rahman Sohan said, ‘Salman Shah was not only a good artiste but also a great human being. He was always honest and straightforward unlike many of today’s artistes.’ The discussion session was followed by a cultural programme, where BFDC based artistes presented music and dance.
