South Korea-based mobile handset maker Samsung has launched its new model Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for Bangladesh market on Tuesday in collaboration with the leading mobile phone operator Grameenphone at the retail price of Tk 80,000. The GP platinum and platinum-plus users will get the handset at a discounted price of Tk 67,500 with 12-month instalment, said GP officials at a briefing on the day.
The pre-booking of the set will start from September 25 (tomorrow) and it will be available on the Bangladesh market from October 15, said Samsung officials.
The customers can pre-book the device in respective Grameenphone centres as well as Samsung stores.
The Galaxy Note 4 comes with 5.7-inch Quad HD display, 3.7 MP front and 16 MP Smart OIS rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation, its new S Pen and Android 4.4.4 KitKat software backed by TouchWiz.
The Bangladesh launching of the handset, which is expected to face fierce competition on the global market from the newly lunched Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus models, will be simultaneously with the global launching in October.
The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in charcoal black, frost white, bronze gold, and blossom pink colours.
‘This will be the ultimate experience
for the smartphone users. This device will increase the productivity and add value to people’s life,’ Samsung Bangladesh head of mobile Hasan Mehdi said while launching the phone.
He said the Galaxy Note 4 would specially ease the office work of any kind, ‘For example, this is the only device where you can select a paragraph of a PDF document and instantly change into the note format,’ he said.
Replying to a question about the after sales service quality of Samsung in Bangladesh, Samsung Bangladesh managing director Choon Soo Moon said, ‘I admit that our after sales service does not perhaps meet the expectation of the people. But we will launch 37 new service points after Eid-ul-Azha next month,’ he said.
