Former Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq is expected to join the Bangladesh cricket team as a spin bowling consultant for the forthcoming Zimbabwe tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Monday.
This will be Saqlain’s second stint with the Tigers after his first assignment during the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka and the home series against the West Indies last year.Saqlain is scheduled to travel to Zimbabwe with the Bangladesh squad from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Bangladesh cricket team, who will play two Tests, three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals, will leave for the Southern African nation on Wednesday and are expected to reach Harare the following day after a stop-over in Dubai.
Meanwhile, local private television channel Maasranga announced that they will broadcast all the matches of the series live.
The series kicks off with the first Test in Harare on April 17 followed by the second Test which will also be held at the same venue from April 25. The three one-dayers will be hosted by Bulawayo on May 3, 5 and 8.
The two Twenty20 Internationals will take place at Bulawayo and Harare respectively on May 11 and 12.
