The building housing several garment factories in Savar that collapsed on Wednesday, killing over 80 people, mostly workers and injuring more than 600 was not constructed following rules and regulations. “It did not have permit from the concerned authority to construct it. We will bring those responsible for it to justice so that no one in future will endanger lives of our people due to negligence”, home minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir told reporters during a visit to the crash site.
He also stated that the government will provide all necessary medi-care, relief and rehabilitation to the victims of the Savar garments factory collapse, the minister stated.
