Standard Chartered Bank has paid Tk 185 crore as advance income tax in June 2013, making the total income tax paid in the fiscal year 2012-13 Tk 503 crore, said a press release.
This means SCB has now become the second largest taxpayer under Large Tax Unit of the National Board of Revenue for the mentioned period.NBR chairman Ghulam Hussain received a cheque for Tk 80 crore, the latest instalment, from SCB chief financial officer Imtiaz Ibne Sattar in the city recently.
NBR member (Admin and HRM) Bashir Uddin Ahmed, Large Tax Unit commissioner of taxes Sanjit Kumar Biswas, additional commissioner of taxes Md Abdul Baten, SCB financial controller M Masud Rana and head of tax Syed Bashir Ali were also present on the occasion.
