A schoolgirl committed suicide in the capital’s Mirpur early Friday.
The deceased, Jannatul Priya, 16, daughter of Mizanur Rahman of Shewrapara in Mirpur, was a Class X student of Cambrian School and College.
Sohel Rana, maternal uncle of Priya, said they found the body hanging from ceiling fan when they entered her
room as she did not responded to their call for taking sahri at around 3:00am on Friday.
Later, she was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor pronounced her dead.
Mizanur Rahman, father of Priya, said his
daughter committed suicide following disagreement with the family over a trivial matter.
