Speakers at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day science and ICT fair in Barisal Thursday afternoon urged the students to be scientifically-minded to take Bangladesh forward
as a technology and knowledge-based nation.
The district administration has organised the fair with 25 stalls of different educational institutions, science clubs and other organisations at Barisal Government Zilla School ground in observance of the 34th National Science, Information and Communication Technology Week- 2013.
A five-day book fair with 14 stalls was also inaugurated at the same venue on the occasion.
Main thrust of the fairs is to disseminate information about the latest development in scientific and ICT knowledge and low and no cost scientific instruments invented by the students and the public in general.
‘Future of the country depends on the study and practice of knowledge and science’ is the slogan of the fair aiming to spread practice and study of technology.
Deputy commissioner Md Shohidul Alam presided over the inaugural session of the fairs opened by Barisal divisional commissioner Md Nurul Amin.
