Pace bowler Shahadat Hossain said on Wednesday that he felt like making a new beginning of his career when he returned to competitive cricket coming out from the temporary ban of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. He picked the important wicket of Saeed Anwar jr in his six overs that cost him 49 runs to make a triumphant return top level cricket. Shahadat was involved in action for Abahani Limited from the very first delivery of Gazi Group innings in their Dhaka Premier League match.
Gazi opener Anamul Haque flicked the first ball of the innings, bowled by Taskin Ahmed, which flew to Shahdat at fine leg as the paceman completed a comfortable catch to give himself a perfect kick-start in the game.
Shahadat later removed Saeed with the last ball of his second over to complement Taskin, who wreaked the havoc in Gazi’s top order with three quick wickets.
‘I feel it’s a new beginning for me,’ Shahadat told New Age on Wednesday.
‘I had all sort of nervousness while coming into bowl because it happened to be a long break for me.
‘I was happy with my initial bowling but struggled during the death and I am looking forward to work on it in the coming days,’ said the paceman.
Shahadat also held on to the catch of Mustafizur Rahman at cover running a good distance to show his improvement in fielding department.
Shahadat was serving the ban of BCB as he was alleged of abusing an eleven-year old child that he employed as housemaid.
