Former national pace bowler Shahadat Hossain, who is undergoing through a police case of beating his house help on Saturday, began his rehabilitation for injured left-knee with a bail granted by High court. HC has granted him a 3-month bail in a case filed against him and his wife for torturing their domestic help. Shahadat arrived at the Bangladesh Cricket Board premises to meet physicians to start the rehab programme that was stopped after nearly a month since going a surgical operation on his left knee.
Shahadat along with his wife went into hiding after a case was filed under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Mirpur police station on September 6.
The lanky paceman surrendered to the court of the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, which rejected his bail later on October 5.
Shahadat went straight to the BCB doctor’s room ignoring the request to entertain the media without delay after arriving at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium premises for the first time since he has been involved with the case.
‘We resumed his rehab programme from today as he could not continue it due to personal reasons,’ BCB physician Debashish Chowdhury told New Age on Saturday.
‘He had earlier completed one month programme before it stopped abruptly. Now we start the programme again that is required to recover him fully after a knee operation on his left foot,’ he said.
