Two contrasting performances put Shakhawat Hossain on top of the leader board at the BTI Golf Championship in the Kurmitola Golf Club after the end of the third day on Tuesday.
Shakhawat, who shared the leader board with Siddikur Rahman after the second round, took full control of the leader board with (-11) under par and by hitting 205 shots after the end of the third round.
Shakhawat began the morning by making his first birdie in hole 3 but hit a wall as he hit a double bogey in hole 5.
Although he bounced back quite effectively hitting four more birdies in hole 7, 13, 14, and 17, he ended his day (-3) under par.
Siddikur continued with his inconsistent performance on the third day by hitting five bogies and six birdies. He finished his day with (-1) under par and at the second place in the leader board with a combined 207 shots and (-9) under par.
He hit two double bogies in hole 10 and 16 to begin the day with. He hit four birdies in hole 2, 4, 5, and 7 before hitting his first double bogie. He followed that up with another bogie in hole 11. Even though he scored two more birdies in hole 13 and 17, he was unable to lift his position to number 1 as hit his second double bogey of the day in hole 16.
Jamal Hossain is on the third position with (-4) under par, Liton Howlader in the fourth position (+2) and Jibon Ali in the fifth place with (+4).
