Bangladesh Under-17 batsman Shamim Patwari caught the imagination of local cricket fans when he struck a double century in the drawn three-day match against visiting CAB Under-17 team at Rangpur. Shamim hit 226 off 286 balls with 21 fours and 10 sixes as the hosts made 403 in their first innings, replying to CAB’s 257. The match ended in draw after CAB reached 121-3 in their second innings with Shamim, a product of Chandpur Cricket Academy, being among the wicket takers.
The CAB team is currently visiting Bangladesh to play four three-day matches against their local counterparts. The first match ended in a draw in BKSP before Bangladesh Under-17 won the second match by an innings and 65 runs.
The fourth and final match will start on October 20 in Rangpur.
