Prime minister’s health and social welfare adviser Syed Modasser Ali on Thursday inaugurated the Bangladesh Share Market Exhibition 2010 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city.
Around 40 securities houses have put up their stalls at the fair organised by Mirror Media and Productions, a Bangladesh-India joint-venture event management company, expressly to make investors more conversant with the functions of brokerage houses and capital market regulators.
Modasser Ali said he expected to see a stable and healthy share market in the country within the next two to three years.
He also called on the institutions having knowledge and expertise in the modus operandi of the capital market to come forward to help stabilise the presently overheated market.
Investors should be knowledgeable and cautious in taking investment decisions, Mirror editor Qazi Jahangir Alam told the inaugural session.
Ekushey Television chief executive officer Abdus Salam said they were providing up-to-date information to the stakeholders so that the investors could manage their portfolios properly.
Shajahan Bhuiyan Razu of Mirror Media and Productions was also present on the occasion.
