Popular model turned small screen actress Sarika has expressed her desire to establish herself in the movie industry.
It is her long cherished desire to act in the commercial movies, however, she took time to make decision to get approval from her family, Sarika told.
‘I have not yet signed for any movie but I have several offers. I’ve not decided either which will be my debut film. I’ll officially inform the press on next movie in a couple of month,’ Sarika said.
‘I’m taking time as I’m very much concerned about my debut film. I will select those films which will help me develop my career in the commercial movie industry and will entertain my fans as well,’ she added.
Expressing her interest in commercial movies, Sairka said, ‘I have always been interested to work in films but I could not start my film career because of family restrictions. Another reason of taking time was that I thought I was not prepared to act in movies.’
‘But, my experience of acting in over a hundred TV plays and TV commercials has given me the confidence to act in films,’ she added.
Sarika further said she would not frequent on the small screen like her present business soon after starting her career in the movie industry. ‘Acting in films is time consuming as well as hectic. As a result, I believe I won’t be able to work much in TV plays and commercials as I believe I won’t be able to concentrate much on so many things simultaneously. It will rather tarnish my career.’
‘Still if I get offer to act in good story, I may work in few TV plays’, Sarika told New Age.
Sarika began her career in the media as a model in –. She got nationwide popularity appearing on TV commercials of mobile operator Banglalink. She made her debut as a small screen actress in Ashutosh Sujan’s Camellia. She received acclaims acting in Humayun Ahmed’s play Rumali. So far, Sarika has acted in about 150 TV plays.
