Dhaka Shishu Hospital inaugurated its cardiac unit on Thursday to render services, including operation, to children with cardiovascular diseases, said a press release.
US paediatric heart surgeon Kim F Duncan, from University of Nebraska medical centre, will treat patients at the cardiac centre of the hospital till January 23.
A seminar was also held on the day on the ‘recent advances in paediatric cardiac surgery’ in the Shishu Hospital auditorium. Kim F Duncan presented keynote paper.
National Professor Brigadier Abdul Malek as chief guest attended the programme presided over by the chairman of the hospital management board, Professor Mahmudur Rahman.
