Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday after being stabbed at his home in Bandra during the early morning hours.
According to police reports, an unknown intruder entered the actor’s residence, resulting in a confrontation where Saif was stabbed two to three times. Family members were present in the house at the time, officials confirmed.
The Mumbai Police have initiated an investigation to locate and apprehend the suspect. “An unidentified individual broke into the home of actor Saif Ali Khan. A struggle occurred, during which the actor sustained injuries. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, and the investigation is ongoing,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam during a media briefing.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Leelavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unknown assailant at his home. He was brought to the hospital by his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, along with a staff member. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Dr. Uttamani revealed that Saif suffered six injuries, two of which are critical. One injury is near his spine, while another on his neck is still being evaluated.
A statement from Saif’s team acknowledged the incident and asked for patience from fans and the media. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently undergoing surgery at the hospital. This is a matter for the police, and updates will be provided as the situation unfolds,” the statement said.
