The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh on Saturday elected Showkat Hossain as president and Kamrul Abedin, Nasim Anwar and Dewan Nurul Islam as vice-presidents of the institute for the year 2014. The ICAB office bearers were elected by the ICAB council members shortly before holding the 41th annual general meeting at ICAB auditorium in Dhaka, said a news release.
ICAB outgoing president Md Abdus Salam chaired the council meeting and the annual general meeting.
Showkat, the newly elected president, became an associate member in 1977 and fellow member in 1986 of the ICAB. He has been in the ICAB Council since 2004. He also served the ICAB as vice-president in the years 2004, 2006, 2007, 2012 and 2013.
