Siddikur Rahman bagged a handsome $57,900 after his astonishing performance in the fourth and final round of the Barclays Singapore Open on Monday.
Despite a gallant effort in the last round, Siddik finished in the 25th position jointly with six golfers. After resuming the remaining seven holes on Monday morning the only blemish he did was at the fourth hole where he bogeyed for the first time in the last round.
Siddik has now become the highest earning sportsperson in Bangladesh, having already pocketed $3,19,249 (Tk 2.25 crore approx). Siddik has flown to Hong Kong to take part in the $2.5 million UBS Hong Kong Open which gets under way on November 18.
‘I do not play only for the prize money, it is a natural consequence if you play well, I’m just enjoying my game and trying to enhance my skills and learn few things from the world’s best golfers,’ Siddik told reporters.
Siddik remains in the
Top 10 of the Asian Tour’s order of merit, only a few players from the Asian Top 10 made it to the top 30 in the Barclays Singapore Open.
