Siddikur Rahman secured a fifth place finish at the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters in Malaysia with a score of four-under-par 68 in the final round on Saturday. In doing so, the Bangladeshi golfer earned $13,320 (Tk 10 lakh approx) in prize money.
Siddik began his round promisingly with a birdie on the opening hole before a bogey on the very next hole briefly threatened to disrupt his rhythm.
But Siddik, who is currently ranked second in the Asian Development Tour Order of Merit, recovered to make a birdie on the third hole and followed it up with another three birdies before the end of the round.
His final tally of 12 under par 276 saw him tie for fifth place with two other golfers, three strokes behind the winner of the tournament, Joonas Granberg.
Granberg produced a stellar final round of six-under-par 66 to become the first Finland player to win on the Asian Tour.
Granberg, who set a new course record with a score of 10 under par 62 in the opening round, edged Thai teenager Panupohol Pittayarat by one stroke with his 15-under-par 273 winning total at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club.
