Siddikur Rahman went from strength to strength in the Indonesia Open as he finished fourth after the end of the fourth and final round’s play in Jakarta on Sunday.
Siddik posted four-under-par 67 in round four and ended the US$750,000 tournament four shots behind the winner, India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar, who registered three-under-par 68 in the final round. Overall, Siddik hit 12-under-par 272.
The Bangladeshi golfer started the day on a bright note as he struck four birdies in the first four holes. Two bogeys in the 6th and 15th holes slowed down his progress but two more birdies in the 16th and 17th holes ensured he finished fourth.
The 29-year-old Siddik was joint-13th after round two before elevating himself to joint-eighth after the end of round three.
The fourth-placed finish in the Indonesia Open will earn Siddik US$37,500, which takes his total earnings in 2013 to US$486,667.
Siddik came into the Indonesia Open on the back of a disappointing campaign in the recently concluded World Cup of golf in Melbourne, where he finished a lowly 55th among 60 golfers.
He will now set his sights on the Hong Kong Open, which will begin on December 5.
