Country’s ace golfer Siddikur Rahman inched towards victory in the bti International Golf Championship as he consolidated his position at the top with a total score of eight-under-par 208 on Wednesday.
Siddik repeated his performance of the previous day as he stroked five birdies against two bogeys to end the third day of the four-day event on three-under-par 69 that saw him extend his lead at the Kurmitola Golf Club.
KGC’s Liton Howlader and Jibon Ali along with BTI’s Nazim are Siddik’s closest competitor as they all share the second place with a total score of three-under-par 213.
Local golfer Zamal Hossain Mollah and Sri Lanka’s Mithun Perera are joint fifth with their level par score.
Today is the final day of the Tk 15 lakh tournament where 65 golfers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka are competing. However, 47 golfers, who include seven amateur players, made the cut to move further.
