Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman prolonged his good form at the Queen’s Cup on Friday as he improved on his first day position of fourth at the Santiburi Samui Country Club in Thailand.
Siddik recorded two-under-par 69 on the second day to finish in joint-second position, behind Japan’s Daisuke Kataoka in the $312,000 event.The 28-year-old Bangladeshi golfer, who claimed second position in the Queen’s Cup last year, listed an overall score of seven-under-par 135 which was only bettered by Kataoka, who posted an overall nine-under-par 133 after the end of round two.
Siddik fired three birdies on day two against one bogey. He struck the birdies in the 11th, 16th and 18th holes while he fell to a bogey in the 12th hole.
The Queen’s Cup, which was held for the first time in 2009, continued to elude established golfers like Australia’s Wade Ormsby and Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
Aphibarnrat was mired in 27th position while Ormsby was occupying 36th position after the end of the second day’s play.
The Queen’s Cup will conclude on Sunday.
