SM Sultan Utsab 2011, an event sponsored and supported by mobile phone operator Banglalink, will begin in Narail tomorrow.
Sheikh Mohammed Sultan (1923-1994) was one of the legendary painters in Bangladesh.
He won the Ekushey Padak in 1982, Bangladesh Charu Shilpi Sangsad award in 1986 and the Independence Award in 1993. He was known to the locals as Lal Mia.
SM Sultan Utsab is a tribute to the legendary artist and his works.
The three-day long festival, starting on 29 July, will continue till 31 July. It will feature songs, dance performances, drama, discussions and more.
Hundreds of cultural personalities and people from all over the country are expected to attend the event to be held at Sultan Moncho of Shishushorgo, in Norail Sadar.
SM Sultan Shishu Charu O Karukola Foundation is the organiser of the event. Banglalink is sponsoring the event.
