A day long workshop of “Management of Financing SME” for the Officers of Pubali Bank Ltd (PBL) organised by Pubali Bank Training Institute held recently. Managing Director of PBL Helal Ahmed Chowdhury attended as chief guest in inaugural session while as special guest PBL DMD Mahbub Mustafizur Rahman was present and General Manager of Bangladehsh Bank Sukomal Singha Chowdhury was the keynote speaker. Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Md. Ashraful Alam, Principal of the Training Institute Badruddin Ahmed, faculty member DGM Sushil Kumar Paul, DGM Shahnawaz Chowdhury were present in the seminar.
In his speech Helal Ahmed Chowdhury said that SMEs have occupied a unique position in our economy and also playing a significant role for the development of our economy by creating employment opportunity and producing important alternative machines and machinery parts for saving huge foreign currency for our country. He advised all officials to be meticulous in compliance of instructions of Bangladesh Bank and other regulatory bodies.
In his deliberations the keynote speaker Sukomal Singha Chowdhury asserted that in the competitive global banking arena to become a successful banker, all bank officials should have a clear concept about SME banking.
