Actress Soha Ali Khan says she wishes to do a romantic comedy, suggesting she might be eager to venture new grounds. Soha said: “I am eagerly waiting to do a rom-com. I have romanced before in ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ and other films, but I have never had an opportunity to do rom-com. I don’t like watching them, but I want to work in one.”
Soha feels that comedy is a tough genre and it makes people look weird on screen. She says taking up her latest project, forthcoming movie “Mr Joe B. Carvalho” — a comedy — was a conscious decision as she wanted to break free from her serious image.
“Comedy requires certain expressions which don’t make you look beautiful or elegant onscreen but I don’t mind making fun of myself. What I love about this movie is that for the first time I was given an opportunity to break the image of doing certain roles,” Soha said in an interview.
“Mr Joe B Carvalho”, directed by Samir Tewari, is slated to hit theatres on January 3, 2014. The film also stars Arshad Warsi opposite Soha.
Soha feels comedy cannot be learnt. “Comic timing is very difficult to learn. Either you have it or you don’t. But I don’t think that you can learn comedy. I don’t think that it is something that can be taught,” she said.
Daughter of the gorgeous Sharmila Tagore and the younger sister of Saif Ali Khan, Soha’s stay in the industry has been for a while, but she has been selective about her films.
