A unique game show “Krishoker Baishakhi Ananda” will be aired on Channel i on Pahela Baishakh (April 14) at 11:30 pm.
Celebration of Pahela Baishakh is inseparable from Bengali identity. This is one rural festival that has become enormously big in the cities, especially in Dhaka. But celebrations in the villages, however, are seemingly losing their glory due to harsh poverty. One such village is Chawk Shimla — tucked in a remote area in Naogaon. This village enjoys virtually no amenity. Burdened by immense frustrations, people of this village have often chosen suicide.
“Krishoker Baishakhi Ananda” brings to light stories from this village and through fun and games has tried to offer them some respite from their daily woes.
Planned, anchored and directed by eminent media personality Shykh Siraj, the show will be re-aired on April 15 at 3:05 pm.
