With back-to-back centuries against Pakistan, opening batsman Tamim Iqbal reached to new heights of cricketing feat as he shares now few records that no other cricketer can boast. His unbeaten 116 in the second one-day international drew him level with team-mate Sakib al Hasan in terms of most six centuries scored for Bangladesh in this format. He was already sharing the record of most fifties (28) with Sakib and on his way to 132 in the first one-dayer he overtook Sakib as the leading scorer for Bangladesh.
Tamim, who has now 4,373, runs struck 496 fours and 57 sixes, also the highest for Bangladesh.
Tamim’s 154 against Zimbabwe in 2009 is still the record for the highest individual score for a Bangladeshi in a one-day international.
No other cricketer in the world holds so many records for his respective country, which in a sense made Tamim’s feat a unique one.
Indian Sachin Tendulkar and Australian Ricky Ponting also had the feats of scoring most runs and centuries, hitting most boundaries and over boundaries like Tamim.
But they don’t not have highest individual score for their respective countries.
