The Rajshahi city mayor, Mosaddeque Hussain Bulbul, has urged the students to groom themselves properly to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
Terming the students as the future leaders of the nation, he has said they should be well equipped with scientific and information and communication technological knowledge to face the challenges of the 21st century.
He was addressing a reception accorded to the SSC students, who obtained GPA-5 from the city’s schools in 2013, at the City Bhaban Green Plaza on Saturday afternoon as the chief guest.
Besides freeing the society from all sorts of corruption and irregularities, the students’ communities should come forward to lead the society in a way so that the hopes and aspirations of the common people are met properly, he has said.
More than 983 students from 44 educational institutions were accorded reception for their brilliant academic performance in the examinations.
The mayor advised the students to refrain themselves from all sorts of destructive, anti-social and immoral activities to brighten the image of the society as well as the nation.
