Saint Gregory’s High School clinched the boys’ group title of the Milk Man Mini Handball Tournament beating Dhaka Residential Model School by 23-15 goals in the final after leading the first half 10-7 at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Sunday. In the girls group, Sunnydale School lifted the crown beating Scholastica by 4-2 goals after trailing 0-1 in the first session at the same venue in the afternoon.
This was the 2nd consecutive title for St Gregory’s High School in the boys group while the 3rd title for Sunnydale in the girls group of the meet.
Diganta of St Gregory’s High School and Silwat Kader of Sunnydale were adjudged the best players of the tournaments from their respective groups.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul was the chief guest in the
day’s closing function and distributed the prizes. Former Vice President of the Federation Mahbubuzzaman was the special guest at the function, chaired by Federation general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor.
Earlier, on Sunday, BAF Shaheed School and College finished 3rd defeating Sunnydale by 20-13 goals in the boys’ place-deciding match while Green Herald placed 3rd beating Viqarunnisa Noon School in the girls’ place-decider.
