Uncertainty over the Pakistan cricket team’s participation in the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 still looms as the Pakistan Cricket Board has yet to convey its decision, Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan said on Sunday. ‘They are yet to confirn us about their particpation in Asia Cup and World Twenty20,’ the BCB president said on a private TV station on Sunday.
‘The sitution in Bangladesh changed to a lot in the meantime, though we have not received anything from them.’
The PCB sent a representative to attend the ICC meeting in Dhaka last month, where the security plan for the World Twenty20 was presented.
The representative had arrived a day early to observe the prevailing
situation in the country as security concerns were raised in the wake of violent episodes that also prompted the West Indies Under-19 team to scrap their tour of Bangladesh in December after just one match.
Sri Lanka, who were also doubtful about touring this month, were satisfied by the BCB’s presentation and went ahead with their series in Bangladesh.
