A six-a-side cricket tournament called the Polar Ice Cream Street Cricket started at the Dhanmondi Club ground on Thursday to create the cricket hype among the youth ahead of the World Cup. The 13-day long tournament will follow the rules of street cricket and it is open to all and any team, composed of seven players aged under 21, can register for this tournament. Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), a platform of former and current Bangladeshi cricketers, organised this event jointly with Spellbound, an advertising firm. The champions of this tournament will receive a trophy and prize money of Tk 50,000, while the runners-up and the third-placed team will get Tk 25,000 and Tk 15,000 respectively.
