A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at Manora of Manikganj Sadar upazila in Manikganj yesterday.
The victim was identified as Mohamad Mohsin, son of Hossain Foraji at Muljal village in Sadar Upazila. He was a final year student of Government Devendra College in the district.
Police said the accident occurred around 11:30am when a Paturia-bound bus hit the motorcycle from behind. Mohsin was rushed to Manikganj Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
14 JDC examinees injured
UNB from Chuadanga adds: One teacher and 14 examinees, who were going to attend Junior Dakhil Certificate examination, were injured in a road accident at Atmile in Sadar upazila yesterday.
Bulbuli Begum, a teacher of Badarganj Dashami Female Madrasa in Sadar upazila, along with 14 examinees was going to Fajil (Degree) Madrasa in the district town by a human hauler in the morning.
The human hauler fell into roadside being hit by a motorcycle, leaving them injured.
The injured receiving first aid at Sadar Hospital went to the examination centre.
But teacher Bulbuli and two examinees Moushumi and Liza could not go to exam centre as their condition was stated to be critical.
Two other injured candidates—Rahima and Aklima — entered the exam centre by an hour late.
