The students of Shaheed Sohrawardy Hall at Rajshahi University went on a demonstration on Wednesday and confined the hall provost, Professor Asabul Haque, for his alleged negligence of responsibilities. Witnesses said the studentsl brought out a demonstration inside the hall at about 11:00am in front of the hall provost office protesting against his negligence of dutiesand demanding proper management inside the hall.
Being informed the provost visited the spot and the students confined him in his office for half an hour.
Later, they released him as he ensured that their demands would be met soon.
Students alleged that the WiFi network inside the hall was too slow to use.
They also said other halls were connected with high speed broadband internet but their hall was yet to be connected with it.
Students also complained about the food quality of the hall dining that the foods were unhygienic and because of it many students fall sick frequently.
The hall provost, Asabul Haque, told New Age that the WIFi connection work containing strong frequency and speed was under process.
He denied the allegation of unhygienic dining environment adding that he would take steps against the dust cleaner.
