Nursing college students will start fast-unto-death from today to press home their six-point demands including introduction of one year internship after graduation.
They also demanded reinitiating stipend of Tk 3,000 for all students at the college.
Under the banner of Bangladesh Basic Graduate Students Nurses Association, the students of Dhaka, Barishal and Rangpur nursing colleges formed human chain at their own institutes on Thursday and announced the hunger strike.
Their other demands include taking steps for higher studies for them after graduation, establishment of separate service institute and allowing them to wear apron on the uniform during clinical practice.
They said the authorities did not take any step though they raised their demands several times.
