A suspected mugger was beaten to death at Masterpool under Bakalia police station in the Chittagong city Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Iftekhar Imon, 18, son of the late Abul Kashem, a resident of Dewan Bazar under Bakalia police station.
The Chitagong Medical College and Hospital police outpost sources said that Imon was brought to the hospital in a critical condition after he was beaten up. Later, Imon died from his injuries.
The locals said rivals killed him as a sequel to previous enmity.
